Auxesia Homes appoints new CEO
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Simon Leighton as interim chief executive officer at Auxesia Homes.
Prior to joining Auxesia, Simon provided housing associations and professional services companies with strategy and leadership consultancy, following a highly successful career as a leader of a specialist law firm working with housing associations.
Chair, Ben Baldwin at Auxesia, said:“Simon is highly knowledgeable, passionate, and a forward-thinking professional who will lead our business into the next stage of its growth.
“We’re looking forward to working together under his leadership to further our work providing affordable homes for those who have served and continue to serve our communities.”
In December 2022, Auxesia was made subject to a regulatory review by the social housing regulator (RSH), in relation to breaches of the governance and financial viability standard and was subsequently asked to put a plan of action in place, which the regulator is monitoring on an ongoing basis.
Simon’s appointment is part of the robust plans to adapt and improve the ‘for’ profit housing provider’s business model, he comments:
“It’s been a real period of reflection for Auxesia, and the RSH’s recommendations have been welcomed by the Board to enable us to move forward.”
“I’m delighted to be part of the senior management team at this key time of change..”
“We have a fantastic team and business model, utilising private investor capital to address the housing affordability crisis, ensuring that public service workers are given the highest opportunity to have a safe, energy efficient home, in a place that they want to live.”
“We have ambitious plans for the future as we continue to grow our pipeline across the North West and Yorkshire working with national and local housebuilders to deliver.”
